Volunteer Opportunities: Yes
Based on our experience working with over 700 children in servitude, we believe that until a child access to food and shelter is contingent on heavy unpaid work, abuse and exploitation, most programs and interventions do not achieve the ultimate objective of overcoming these children extreme poverty. We are fundraising to build the Residential School. The Residential School will provide a safe house, an accelerated education program, mental health, emotional support, mentoring, arts, sports, and healthy socialization with peers and adults and a business incubator. Our goal is to provide the comprehensive support needed for Restavek girls to build healthy and economically secure futures, all under one roof.
Haiti Now is dedicated to empowering Haitian girls living in domestic servitude to overcome poverty and exploitation to achieve economic security.
To see girls in domestic servitude overcome extreme poverty, heal emotional trauma, and live rewarding lives.
